Margaret A. “Maggi” Goodall

July 2, 1940 — June 8, 2018

Margaret A. “Maggi” Goodall, age 77, of Millcreek passed away peacefully on June 8, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Zanesville, OH on July 2, 1940, a daughter of the late Edgar and Florence Erbes Kooser.

 

Maggi graduated from Webster Groves High School in St. Louis, MO and attended Southern Illinois University where she met her husband Jim.  They moved to Erie in 1969 when Jim started Foam Fabricators.   

           

Maggi was a generous, kind, and strong person who put those qualities to use helping others, especially friends and neighbors. She was very handy and could fix and make just about anything. Maggi was a former Public Relations Director for United Way and was instrumental in starting the “Hotline” Counseling Phone Service.   Maggi also volunteered her time with several other organizations.  She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the Kahkwa Club.  Maggi was an excellent golfer who won the Club Championship numerous times.  She also participated in many EDWGA Events and was the 1989 Women’s City Champ.

 

One of the most cherished times of Maggi's life was the years spent at their cottage on Findley Lake. A lifetime of memories were created there that will last forever in the hearts and minds of Maggi and Jim’s children and grandchildren.

 

 Maggi was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 51 years, James Goodall.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Jeff) Norris and Carolyn (Mark) Sabolcik; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Eddie Sardina) Norris, Rachel Norris, Matthew Sabolcik, Michael (Kate) Sabolcik and Katie Sabolcik; a brother, King (Julie) Betz, a sister-in-law, Virginia Betz and several nieces and nephews.

 

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue), on Monday June 11th from 4 - 7 pm. and are invited to attend a service there on Tuesday June 12th at 11:00am. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. 

 

Memorials may be made to the Erie Community Foundation, 459 W. 6th St., Erie, PA  16507.
