Mae Frances McCullum “Sis” Corder age 65 of Erie, died Monday, July 14, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie after an extended illness, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Bay Springs, MS on February 24, 1949, a daughter of Frances McCullum and the late George H. McCullum.
Mae moved to Erie and was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School. She worked as a caregiver for many years at the Gertrude Barber Center and also worked in banking with Union and Mellon Bank as well as working for Fryling Manufacturing.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening, shopping and cooking.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Albert E. and Willie J. McCullum, and a sister Joyce M. McCullum.
Along with her husband James and her mother Frances she is survived by her son, James Corder, Jr.; five grandchildren: Cameron M. Corder, Austin Langdon, Courtney N. Corder, James O. Corder and Neveah Evans; two great grandchildren: Darrian A. Beasley, Jr. and Kamora C. Corder; six sisters: Helen Crockett (Earnest), Betty Geary, Zettie Harris, Shirley McCullum and Janice Rowry; four brothers: Henry E. McCullum, Gregory McCullum (Christine), Timothy McCullum, and Donell McCullum .
Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, Erie, Pa. 16502 on Thursday from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm and are invited to services on Friday at Morning Star Baptist Church, 327 East 23rd Street Erie, Pa. 16503 at 11:00 am with Reverend Cleveland Olmer officiating. Burial in Erie Cemetery.
