Madeline A. DeFonzo Geertson, 83, of Erie, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at Golden Living Center - Western Reserve.
She was born July 29, 1928 in Erie, daughter of the late Michael and Leona Smith DeFonzo. A 1945 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, Madeline was a dispatcher for Erie Ambulance Service for several years and was a secretary in the Billing Office of St. Vincent Health Center for over 12 years retiring in 1993.
Survivors include a son, Michael J. Tatar, a daughter, Kathleen Jageman, a brother, Robert DeFonzo and wife Anita, three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, all of Erie.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie, PA 16502.
