Mabel Froess

Mabel Ruth Froess, age 93 of Erie, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Erie, Pa. on August 13, 1919 a daughter of the late Arthur and Idabel Seib Gorr.

She worked along with her husband as owners of Froess Piano and Organ Company until her retirement in 1975.

Mabel enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, and cooking for her family, and especially enjoyed being a grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Froess and her brother, Victor Gorr.

Survivors include four daughters: Penny Malovich and her husband Jack, Cathy Hamme and her husband Howard, Susan Stone and her husband Jack, and Robin Caravaglia, all of Erie; ten grandchildren: Susan Jata, Jennifer Ferretti, Beth Bolton, Krista Carnes, Arturo Hamme, Manuel Hamme, Sarah Green, Emily Wilcko, Santangelo Caravaglia and Camille Caravaglia; ten great grandchildren and one nephew.

A service will be held Friday at 11 am at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street, with Rev. Dr. Donald Baxter.

The family would also like to say thank you to the caregivers from Great Lakes Hospice and Griswold Home Care.
