M. John Yount, II

M. John “Yancy” Yount II was born February 21, 1959 in Erie the son of the late M. John Yount and Bettie (Nelson) Yount. He died on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the age of 65. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed everything relating to water, boating and fishing. Yancy returned to Erie about five years ago and spent the years in between in the low country of Charleston, South Carolina and Deerfield Beach, Florida. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his longtime companion Stephanie Newell, her son Stephen; his sister Kristina Bailey (Bill), his niece Laura Bailey Johns (Blake), his nephew Bill Bailey, Jr., great- nephew Shepard Bailey Johns, his aunts and cousins.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie on Monday, June 24, 2024 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at which time Funeral Services will be held. Burial will be private.
