M. Eckerson

M. “Rosanne” Eckerson age 90, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at her residence.

She was born in Erie on January 21, 1932 a daughter of the late George and Mamie (Apple) Constable.

Rosanne graduated from St. Mary’s Elementary and Villa Maria Academy class of 1950. She was a former organist/choir director at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church.  In 1979, she created and served as 1^st Director of the Millcreek Township Public Service Department and was a host of the Township’s educational TV program. She retired from Millcreek Township in 2004.  Even with her many career titles Rosie’s favorite were Mother, Mom, Momma, Mommy, Nana and Great Nana!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Gerald A. Dunn; granddaughter, Christa E. Dunn and a son-in-law, Joseph G. Spiegel.

She is survived by her four children, Patrick Dunn (Kathy), Kathi Spiegel, Richard Dunn of Pensacola, FL and Ginny Bednaro (Rick); 9 grandchildren, Rachel (Hamet) Perezic of Staten Island, NY, Jonathan Dunn, Nikki Spiegel, Jacki Keyes (Mike) of Pittsburgh, Joe Spiegel, Katie Spiegel, Brittnay Jordan (Jeramie) of Jonesboro, TN, Chris Dunn (Lori Beth) of Antioch, TN and Rich Bednaro (Erin); 9 great grandchildren, Cora and Cole Perezic of Staten Island, NY, Meadow Keyes of Pittsburgh, Addison, Ethan and Elle Jordan of Jonesboro, TN, Christian Dunn of Pensacola, FL, Dominick Milano of Hampton, VA and Lincoln Bednaro.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Linda Young, Nurse Jackie and Nurse Practitioner Sophia for the wonderful care and kindness they always provided to our mother.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services West Ridge, 3801 W. 26^th Street on Saturday, March 5^th from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. George Church 5145 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16509. Private burial will be in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the JOY Senior Center 3127 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16508 VNA Hospice 2253 W. Grandview, Erie, PA 16506.
