Lynda Gresh

Lynda Gresh, age 81, of Cranesville, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Erie, PA on April 25, 1943, a daughter of the late Ernest and Gladys Walter Leopold. 

Lynda graduated from Fairview High School in 1961 and went on to complete beauty school. She owned and operated Lynda Gresh Beauty Salon in Fairview for over 40 years. In 1961, she was the runner up in the Grape Queen Contest. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, and gardening. Going to the casino and playing slot machines was one of her favorite past times. She enjoyed going to water aerobics with her friends and going to lunch afterwards. She was a member and past president of the Fairview Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan, enjoyed snowmobiling with family and friends and was a member of several bowling leagues in West County. She loved spending good quality time with her two best lifelong friends, Linda Meeker and Diane (Dee Dee) Young.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Joseph Gresh and her brothers, Thomas Leopold and Richard Leopold.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Bard, and her husband, Jim of Mt. Jewett, Pa., and their children: Jamie Bard, Chelsi Shaeffer, and Kaysea Plants; her two sons: Timothy Gresh of Philadelphia, Pa., and Terry Gresh and his wife Dena, of Cranesville, Pa.; their sons Tyler and Dylan Gresh. She is also survived by five grandchildren and sixteen great- grandchildren; her sister, Brenda Bell and husband, John of Harleysville, Pa.; their three sons: Thomas, Jake, and Douglas Bell; and Patti Leopold (wife of the late Thomas Leopold) and their children: Scott Leopold, Kristen Zeolla, Michele Linkoski, and Mike Grimaldi. 

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard, on Thursday from 3:00pm until 7:00pm and funeral services will be held there on Friday at 11:00am. 

Interment to follow at Hope Cemetery.
