Lydia Mowers

December 15, 1929 — October 5, 2016

Lydia Freia Boseti Piscadlo Grenaway Lopez Mowers, age 86 passed away on October 5th, 2016 with family members by her side to send her off. She always was there for family and friends to willingly give of her time and talents. She will always be loved and sorely missed by family and friends. She was a special person.

Lydia was born in Mannheim, Germany on the 15th day of December, 1929 the daughter of the late Ludwig Wilhelm Koch and Theresia Boseti Curlett. Since 1952 she lived and worked in Erie, PA for Maders Bakery and WT Grant. Later she was a joint partner with Rufus Grenaway providing janitorial contract services to many businesses within the Erie area. In addition, she owned many rental properties around Erie for over 3 decades. After retirement, she was a volunteer for Metropolitan Hospice Thrift Shop. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary #773 and DANK.

She is survived by her loving family: her eldest son, John R. Grenaway, his children, Meghan Ryan ( husband Jason Byler), Amanda Freia ( husband Joshua Franklin), Lydia Rose ( fiancé Nathan Walker), Emily Anne ( husband Paul Clark), J. Benjamin, Michael Joseph, Johannah Grace and Cheyenne Brooke; son Robert R. Grenaway and his wife Nickol, his children, Luca “Robbie” ( husband Umberto Ambrosini) , Justin and Jasmine ; and her youngest son, William L. Grenaway, his children, William, (wife Whitney Grenaway), Jonathan and Lydia. She is further survived by eight great-grandchildren Janiyah, Olivia, Kennedy, Dakota, Marley, Jaxon, Amari and William, III . Her loving son William L. Grenaway cared for her in her last years to provide in home support and comfort.

Friends are encouraged to call on the family from 1:00 until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 pm on Saturday November 5th at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home at 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Avenue) with Rev. John Detisch officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Millcreek Post #773, 4109 West12th Street Erie PA 16505.
