Luise Taylor, age 94 of Erie, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on May 2, 1921. Luise is survived by a son, Dr. Daniel Taylor and his wife Rhonda Kane of Erie. Also survived by three granddaughters, Crystal Hines, Tami Johnson, and Tabetha Johnson, all of Titusville, six great grandchildren, Michael Gennaro, Santana Welker, Mason Welker, Rachel Finnecy, Jayla McGuigan, and Frankie McGuigan, all of Titusville, sister Anneliese Rainwater and brother Gunther Schneider both of Hickory, North Carolina, and brother Karlheinz Schneider and his wife Helga, sister Inge Ruppert and her husband Manfred, half brother Fredrick Kaus of Wiesbaden, Germany and her beloved companion, her dog Elvis.
Luise was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Karin and Herta, brother Heinrich, and her loving husband, Leon Robert Taylor, whom she would have been married to for over 66 years.
Luise loved gardening and animals, and contributed time and money to charitable causes such as the March of Dimes, the Human Society, and the ASPCA. She was also a former member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street Erie, PA 16502 on Tuesday from 2:00 till 4:00 and 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. and are invited to services there on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kenneth Fails officiating. Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made to the Anna Shelter 1555 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511.
