Ludwig Trabert

Ludwig (Lou) M. Trabert, age 91, of Erie passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at St. Mary’s Home East. He was born November 1, 1929 in Erie the son of the late Marian and Susan Podbielski Trabert.

Lou served with the US Army during WWII and later with the Air Force during the Korean War. He was retired from the City of Erie Fire Department where he worked as a dispatcher. He was a member of the Siebenbuerger club, the Elks Lodge 67, and the former East Erie Turners. Lou and his wife used to enjoy wintering in Largo, FL.

Besides his parents, Lou was preceded in death by a brother Max Trabert and two sisters; Frances Scalzitti and Getrude Lewandowski.

Lou is survived by his wife, Rita (Sullivan) Trabert along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9^th & Liberty St. on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 12 noon at which time Funeral Services will be held. Burial will be private.
