Louise Aichner Klapthor was born in Erie, July 31st, 1919, the daughter of the late Dr. Gustave J. and Clara Bark Aichner, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015.
A lifelong resident of Erie, she graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1936, attended Allegheny College and received her B.S. Degree From Drexel University in Philadelphia in 1940.
Mrs. Klapthor was a business teacher at Strong Vincent High School from 1964 until her retirement in 1989.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, an honorary life member of the American Association of University Women, a member of Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. She had been a member of the Board of Directors of the Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center from 1990 to July 2008 and had formerly been a member of the Women’s Club of Erie for several years.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Carlson H. Klapthor, in 1969 and by her son, William C. Klapthor in 2003.
She is survived by her son, George F.“Rick” Klapthor and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street on Thursday and Friday, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, and are invited to a service at the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 250 West 7th Street, on Saturday at 10 am with Rev. Timm High officiating.
