Louis A. Leone, age 84, of Erie passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at his home. He was born June 12, 1934 in Erie the son of the late Luigi and Matrona Leone.
Louis was a lifelong resident of Erie and had worked in the maintenance department of the Erie School District and was also a boiler-tender. He was the past president of Painters and Tradesman Union 1968 and was currently the president of the Sons of Little Italy.
Louis was a member of St. Paul RC Church and enjoyed following baseball, especially the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed his trips to the casino and was an avid Blackjack player. He was extremely proud of his children and enjoyed the activities of his grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Della Rose Altadonna Leone who died in 2004; along with three brothers; Vincent, Elpidio, and Dominick Leone.
Louis is survived by his four children; Mary Theresa Hicks and her husband Albert of Erie, Dr. Louis D. Leone and his wife Deborah of Chagrin Falls, OH, Frank Leone and his wife Donna of Erie, and Dr. Mark A. Leone and his wife Michele of Erie. He is survived by a sister Marianne Scalera and her husband Joseph of Erie, He is also survived by his grandchildren Alexa, Erica, Frank, Mark, Rachel, and Nicholas. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Paul RC Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
