Lou Ann Sitler (Bruschi) age 67, of Erie passed away on November 4th, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital, following an unexpected illness, surrounded by her family. She was born September 30, 1956, in Erie, PA a daughter of Louis Bruschi and the late Patricia Bruschi.
She graduated from Collegiate High School in Erie Pa, and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Criminology from Slippery Rock University and IUP.
Lou Ann was an extremely active member of Elmwood Avenue Church and was involved in many things including Session, Choir, Sunday Suppers, Youth Club, Bible School, Deacons, The Mission Community, fundraiser dinners, the Women's Association, Koinonia, Wednesday Reset, family camp and outings, as well as the weekly Sunday service.
She was a member of the "Piggies" all female group. She loved reading, crafting, watching Hallmark and Lifetime Movies, decorating her house for every holiday, hosting holiday dinners and attending craft fairs with her sisters. She had volunteered at St. Vincent Hospital the last few years since retiring from her career of almost 30 years at Shriners Hospital. She also volunteered at Camp Lend a Hand in her younger years.
She loved traveling and most recently went to Outer Banks NC, Montana, Kansas City, Ocean City, Maryland, and Jamaica. She especially loved traveling to Annville, PA to visit with her son and his family.
She also enjoyed spending time with her 3 sisters, father, and many good friends.
Lou Ann's ultimate passion in life was spending time with her loving husband, 3 children, and 7 grandchildren. Family was everything to her. She attended countless school events, sporting events, weddings, births, birthdays, and everything in between. She never missed an important event, EVER. She enjoyed cheering on her grandsons at their baseball and hockey tournaments and baking with her granddaughters.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Krasinski Bruschi, nephew, Jamie Denning, special family friend, Greg Porter and dear friend, Carol Cummings.
Lou Ann is survived by her father, Louis Bruschi; her husband, John P. Sitler; son, Jason Kraus (Chelsea), of Annville, PA; daughters, Kelly Kraus – Thornton (Tony), of Erie, and Erin Velasquez, of Erie; step-daughters, Karolyn Evans, of Erie and Lora Prussack (Jamie), of Erie; 7 grandchildren, Gavin, Jackson and Olivia Kraus, Antonio and Ashton Velasquez, Gemma and Janelle Nixon; sisters, Bev Denning, of Erie, Gail Nientimp (Dave), of Erie and Janet Malina (Jeff), of Erie; and several nieces nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc., Downtown, 602 W. 10th Street, Erie on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church, 2816 Elmwood Avenue at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Dave Edmunds presiding.
