Lonnie Spencer

Lonnie Warren Spencer age 66, of Erie, died Monday, May 6, 2013.

He was born in Westfield, NY on December 13, 1946 a son of the late Robert E. and Frances M. Sweet Spencer.

He graduated from Wattsburg High School in 1964 and served as a Marine during the Vietnam War. He worked many years as a self employed contractor and was well known for his fine woodworking skill. He always enjoyed the outdoors and especially canoeing. He was a long time member of the Wesleyville, Carl Neff American Legion Post No. 571.

Lonnie is survived by a daughter, Jessica Spencer of Erie, two stepsons; DaNeal Johnson of Greensboro, NC and Dennon Johnson and his wife Christina of Columbus, OH. A brother, Darrell and his wife Valinda of North East also remain along with their son Robert, several cousins and his former spouse and friend Sheila Shreve.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie, Pa. 16510 on Friday from 10:00 am till the time of service there at 11:00 am with the Reverend David Waldo officiating. Please dress in a casual manner.

Full military honors will be held immediately following the service.
