Lois Townsend Tibbitts

Lois Townsend Tibbitts age 82 passed away on Monday July 1, 2024 at home. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 31, 1941 to the late Frederic Townsend and Beulah Rothschild.

She graduated from Pewaukee High School. Lois worked at J. C. Penney for over 25 years and also volunteered at Whole Foods Co-Op. She was a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church, T.O.P.S. (Take off Pounds Sensibly) and the Red Hat Society. Lois enjoyed ceramics, card stamping/coloring, arts and crafts. She was an avid reader, loved reading by the lake and taking nature walks.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years John Spencer Tibbitts on January 13, 2023 and a brother Thomas Townsend.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Sandra MacKenzie (James) of Manassas Park, VA and Carol Tibbitts of Asheville, NC; 2 grandchildren Cayce Burch of Greensboro, NC and Yssabel Gernandt of Asheville, NC; brother Terrence Townsend (Rose) of Summerfield, FL and sister Linda Jones (Gary) of West Bend, WI.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on August 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Glenwood United Methodist Church, 2931 Myrtle St., Erie, PA.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc., Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie 16510.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to EUMA - Erie United Methodist Alliance, 1033 E. 26th St, Erie, PA 16504.
