Lois S. King Bolla, 84, formerly of Sterrettania Road, died on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Ball Pavilion at Brevillier Village. She was born on April 26, 1931, in Erie, daughter of the late Clyde E. and Ruby Delfft King. A 1950 graduate of Academy High School, she worked as a teacher's aide and secretary for the Tri County Intermediate Unit #5 for 22 years retiring in 1996. Lois was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Pa. Association of Retired School Employees. She enjoyed sewing and made many dance costumes for Long's School of Dance.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Carl Francis Bolla in 2015 and a brother, Elmer King.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl A. Filley and husband Karl of Girard; a son, Michael J. Bolla of Millcreek; a brother, Donald King and wife Carol of Summit Twp.; a sister, Josephine Zipp of Girard; two grandchildren, Emily Stevens and husband Jason and David Filley, both of Girard; a great-grandson, Carson Stevens of Girard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, and are invited to attend a service there Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mary Lord, Chaplain of Ball Pavilion, will officiate. Entombment will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Parkinson Partners of NW PA, P.O. Box 10547, Erie, PA 16514.
