LLOYD W. BOYLAN
Worked at GTE for 40 years
Lloyd W. Boylan, age 85, of Millcreek, died peacefully on Dec. 22nd 2017. He was born on June 15th, 1932 in Edinboro, PA, son of the late Kenneth M. Boylan and Maude E. Boylan.
He retired from GTE serving in several position in the switching area, finishing his career as Director of Switching Services for Pennsylvania. He graduated from Edinboro High School and attended several technical and management schools while with GTE.
He enjoyed golf and was an accomplished bowler. He was a lifetime member of the International Telephone Pioneer Association, member of the Edinboro IOOF Lodge 510 and a member of the Siebenbuerger Club.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Barbara Davis Boylan and a sister, Joan L. Burns. Survivors include 3 sons, Kenneth of Brandon FL, John of Bethlehem PA, Timothy of Erie PA, and a daughter, Debra Bliley of Erie PA, companion, LaVonne Britton of Winter Haven FL, 3 granddaughters, a grandson, 2 great grandsons, 3 sisters, a brother and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on the family at Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th St. (at Powell Ave.), on Thursday Jan 4th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a Time of Sharing there on Friday Jan.5th at 10:30am. Burial will immediately follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2115 W. 38th St., Erie PA 16508.
