Lindsey Kernick

     Lindsey Grace Kernick, age 4, died Wed., Jan. 15, 2014 at her residence.  She was born March 18, 2009 in Erie, daughter of Mark S. and Jennifer A. Stewart Kernick.  She attended the Barber National Institute's Private School, the Elizabeth Lee Black School.  As little as she was, Lindsey was a very strong person with a feisty personality.  She liked Mickey Mouse, playing with Legos, and helping in the kitchen.  She especially enjoyed dining out at Perkins and spending time with her family.
     In addition to her parents, Lindsey is survived by two brothers, Benjamin and Jacob Kernick both at home, her maternal grandmother, Connie Kinney and husband Steven of Union City; paternal grandparents, Patricia and Vincent Kernick, Jr. of Summit Twp., PA; paternal great-grandmother, Antoinette Copeland of Guys Mills, PA; three uncles, Thomas Stewart and wife Martha of Union City, PA, Daniel Stewart and wife Traci of Venango, PA, and James Stewart and wife Melissa of Cambridge Springs, PA; three aunts, Rachel Woyicki and husband Steve, Mindy Young and husband Michael, and Kimberly Stafford and husband Randall, all of Union City; and five cousins.
     Lindsey was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandmother, H. Grace Kernick and her maternal grandfather, Thomas Stewart.
     The family would like to extend a special thank you to family and friends for the past four years of support and to Lindsey's nurse and friend, Melissa Groh.
     Friends may call Friday 4 to 7 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Erie.  Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family with burial in Rootville Cemetery, Crawford Co., PA.
