Linda Schell

November 9, 1955 — February 6, 2015

Linda Ann (Pangborn) Schell passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer, at her Fairview home surrounded by loved ones.

Beloved wife, mother, nana, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Linda was a 1974 graduate of McDowell High School. Linda met her husband James Schell at the age of 15, and from then on they worked, played and raised a family together. Linda’s greatest joy in life was taking care of her family and the Erie community. She was a life-long automotive industry secretary and spent the last 30 years as the office manager at Schell-Baroth Auto Center; with the goal of treating each customer like they were her own family. Everyone she met is better for having known her.

Linda enjoyed watching baseball games and supporting all the activities her children and grandchildren participated in. She loved spending time in nature collecting beach glass and seashells and feeding the deer and birds that frequently visited her home. Linda was also a member of the St. Francis Ushers Club and Blessed Sacrament Church, and supported many local events. One of her favorite pastimes was frequenting area casinos.

Linda Changed the world she was born into by making it more beautiful with her love and kindness. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She did, indeed, accomplish something beautiful for God. Linda will be forever loved and deeply missed.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Pangborn.

She is survived by her mother, Marge Pangborn; her husband, James Schell; a son, Paul Schell; a daughter, Pamela Schell and three grandchildren, Anthony, Ayden, and Emma. She is also survived by a sister, Karen Adams; and four brothers, Ray, Mike, Buzz, Tom and Jim Pangborn. She also has numerous nieces and nephews, she loved dearly.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Hospice nurse Tera, for the excellent care she provided Linda during her final months on this earth.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at Holy Cross Church 7100 West Ridge Road, Fairview, PA 16415 at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
