Linda Mary Bauman (Obleski) Callahan

Linda Mary Bauman (Obleski Callahan, age 60, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at her home in Erie.  She was born Linda Mary Bauman in Erie on May 25th, 1954, the daughter of Alan Bauman, Jr. and Sally Strohm Bauman.

Linda is a graduate of St. Andrew’s, Mercyhurst Prep, and graduated cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Linda had a dedicated career in the banking industry. Her latest employment was with Northwest Savings Bank in the customer service department- a ‘top notch group of people’ Linda could call to help out at any time.  Her proudest accomplishment is her family, including her four children and three grandchildren. Linda enjoyed participating in music ministry with the St. Peter Cathedral choir and Our Lady of the Lake in Edinboro.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and grandparents.

Survivors include her spouse, Robert Callahan; her four daughters, Julie Obleski of Austin, TX;, Christina Cook (Matt) of Carlisle, PA;, Cathy Wetherington (Ray) of Charlotte, NC, and Kaitlyn Callahan of Erie.  She was ‘Grannie Bird’ to her three grandchildren Cora Cook, and Kennedy & Brody Wetherington.  She is also survived by her brothers James Bauman (Carol) and John Bauman (Carolyn) of Erie, and sister Lisa Sullivan (Michael) of Westport, MA along with many nieces & nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty Streets, on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 3-7p.m. and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Cathedral. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th St., Erie, PA 16505.
