Linda M. Bucci, age 58, of Erie went to meet her Lord on Friday, September 2, 2022 after losing her valiant battle against liver cancer. She was born on November 20, 1963, the daughter of the late Marie D. (Ferrare) Bucci and Guido W. Bucci, Sr.
Linda attended St. Paul Grade School in the heart of Little Italy and was a proud alumnus of Villa Maria Academy, class of 1982. In 1986 she graduated from Gannon University with a BA in Theatre and Communication Arts.
That summer she was an Intern for the opera company at The Barns at Wolf Trap in Vienna VA. From 1986 to 1988 she was an assistant stage manager and production assistant for the Washington Opera at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. During the summer she was also an assistant stage manager at Heinz Hall for the Pittsburgh Opera. From 1988 to 2001 she was a full-time nanny for JJ, Nathan, and Joanne Johnson while also being a production assistant and stage manager at Arena Stage in Washington DC. In 2001 she moved back to Erie to be with her family. She worked at Borders Bookstore until they closed in 2011 and for the last 11 years has been a phone operator at Professional Communications Messaging Service, Inc.
Linda had a larger than life and effervescent personality. She had a beautiful voice, would often just burst into song, and loved to sing at weekly mass. She was a voracious reader, loved going to the movies-especially if popcorn was involved, and she was a phenomenal cook and baker - Italian cookies were her specialty. She enjoyed crafts, all things Harry Potter, playing games, and spending time with family and friends.
Along with her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her nephew, Nicholas Bucci.
She is survived by her sister, Roberta and brothers; Anthony (Yvonne), Guido (Sandy), and John (Tricia) Bucci. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Tiffany Bucci, Aimee Bucci, Katlin Cordell (Jeremy), Nicole Bucci, Guido Bucci III, Julia Bucci, Grace Bucci, and great- nieces and nephews Andrew Russo, Aria Russo, Ella Watters. Jaxson Bucci, Quinne Watters, Zoe Watters, and Avery Bucci.
