Lillian Dressler

Lillian M. Crowley Dressler, 96, formerly of Erie, PA, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018 at her son’s home in Gallatin, TN. She was born July 15, 1922, daughter of the late Harold A. Crowley and Mildred Foley Crowley.

She graduated from East High School and as a Senior Citizen graduated from Mercyhurst University in 1989, with a BA Degree. Lillian was a business owner for many years having operated, “Tretter Letter Service” which was located on State Street. 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 yrs., Richard M. Dressler; her sister, Rosemary Swartwood and her husband, Robert Swartwood; her aunt,Emma Foley Sengal and her husband, William “Bill” Sengal; her niece, Melodie Swartwood Meara and nephew, Michael Swartwood. 

Survivors include four children; Dennis A. Dressler, of Gallatin, TN, Barbara J. Doughty, of Coraopolis, PA., Joyce M. Dressler, of Magalia, Calif. and Richard M. Dressler Jr., of Oklahoma City, OK.; six grandchildren, Kenneth, Jerry, Richie, Rosemary, and Mindy.  She is further survived by great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, , grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10^th Street, Erie, PA, 16502, Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.  A funeral service will be held at St. Mark Episcopal Church, 4701 Old French Road at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by burial at the Erie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark Episcopal Church.
