Lila Bell (Ploss) Hoover of East Springfield, PA, passed away on August 19, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 22, 1942, in Erie, the daughter of the late Ethel Brookhouser and Nellis Ploss.
Lila always had a big heart and a warm smile for everyone, but filling her home with family was her greatest joy. She was married to Bob Hoover for 58 years, and their time together revolved around their grandchildren. Lila enjoyed preparing homemade meals seven days a week and spending time together around the dining room table. Not only did she provide childcare for her grandchildren but also for families around the area for more than 40 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Hoover in 2017, granddaughter Dawn Marie, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by five daughters: Diane Sanford (Craig) of Ashtabula Ohio, Darlene Teed, Debbie Fuller (Perry), both of Albion, Denise (Dede) Regelman (Aaron) of Crawford, Colorado, and Donna Williams of Albion. Her grandchildren Crystal, Nikki, Sarah, Mandy, Stephanie, Katie, Katie Lynn, Ashley, Bobby, Marissa, Kellie, Kylie, Ally, and Kevin. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she was also blessed enough to have 17 great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include Helen Wolfe, Wilma Hawkins, and Johnny Ploss.
Family and friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. E, Girard, on Tuesday, August 23rd, from 4 pm to 7 pm, and attend a service there on Wednesday, August 24th at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Springfield Cemetery.
Lila was a member of the Federated Church and chose to have her memorials made to WLD Ranch, 7351 Woolsey Rd. Girard, PA 16417.
