Leroy Myers

LeRoy P. “Roy” Myers age 72 of Erie, and formerly of Jamestown, NY. died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Millcreek Community Hospital. Roy was born in Jamestown, NY on July 29, 1943 a son of the late Paul and Alberta Johnson Myers. He graduated from Southwestern Central High School in Jamestown, NY and then served in the United States Air Force from 1961 until 1965.

Following his military service he worked as a machinist at the Erie General Electric Company. Following retirement in 2008 he spent time enjoying the outdoors. He loved gardening and camping and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Roy is survived by his wife Karen Drakulic Myers along with two daughters; Holly Myers of Erie and Kelly Herbstritt and her husband Richard also of Erie. He also leaves his three grandchildren; Nataly, Eve and Rachel Herbstritt all of Erie along with his brother, Duane Myers and his wife Beth of Kissimmee, FL. A sister, Jeanne Moore and her husband Gary of Santa Rosa, CA and his brother, Terry Myers and his wife Cindy of Tennessee. An aunt, Joyce Mead from Jamestown, NY also survives along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, Pa. 16510 on Thursday from 11:00 am till the time of service there at 1:00 pm in the All Faiths Chapel. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
