Leon Hobson

Leon Hobson, age 65, passed away suddenly in Erie, PA on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Saint Vincent Hospital.  He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on September 4, 1952, a son of Francis Fox Hobson.

Leon graduated in the class of the 1972 from Academy High School.  He enjoyed baseball, singing dancing.  He had a great sense of fashion and was well known for wearing suits and ties.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Nate Hobson and two sisters, Myrna Dixon and Shirley Hobson.

In addition to his parents, Leon is survived by his son, Leon Hobson, Jr., his daughter, Linda Hobson, as well as nieces, Cathleen Myers and Erica Dixon and nephew, Danny Hobson. Further surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  Special thanks to the family that cared for him, Troy Smith, Sr., Latasha Smith-Myers, Troy Smith, Jr., Izaya Smith, Ariana Husband and Krytisha Overton.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10^th St., Erie, PA 16502 on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 11 a.m. until the service at 1pm with Reverend Tony Hill presiding.  Burial will follow in Erie Cemetery.
