Lawry McBryde

Lawry McBryde, 71, of Erie, passed away Monday, April 7th, 2025.

He was born August 26th, 1953 in Fayetteville, NC, a son to the late Lois A. (Vance) McBryde and Lawrence Rush.

Lawry graduated from Strong Vincent High School. He attended The Universities of Pittsburgh and Arizona, ultimately earning his Master’s in Finance. He was an avid reader and lover of nature, which led him to volunteering at Presque Isle pontoon tours for many years. Lawry was a lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan, especially enjoying Bucco baseball and his Pitt Panthers. He loved golfing and was extremely proud of his family. He was charismatic and strongly opinionated; Lawry was “one-of-a-kind” as all who knew him would agree.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Rush.

Lawry is survived by his loving wife, Emily McBryde; son, Michael McBryde (Celeste); daughter, Heather McBryde; stepchildren, John (Jill), Kimberly, and Christopher; four grandchildren, Beckham, Addison, Maeve, and Leona; and sisters, Anne Gerner and Kathy Addleman.. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie on Saturday, April 12th from 12 PM until the time of service there at 2 PM.
