Lawrence Wood

Lawrence A. “Woody” Wood age 77, of Millcreek, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his residence.

He was born in Erie on May 11, 1938, the son of the late Arthur and Winifred Burger Wood.

Larry graduated from Strong Vincent High School and served in the U. S. Navy.

Larry was a Master Electrician and a member of the IBEW Local 56. He was also a member of the Sons of Lake Erie.

He was a very active person who loved sports and enjoyed skiing, golfing, fishing, hunting and painting. You could find Larry at Sneaky Pete’s just about every Friday enjoying a social hour with his friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia Wood; a son, Gary Scott Wood and a nephew, Daniel Holdnack.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Wood of Erie; a sister, Sharon Vaughn of Erie; grandson, Joshua Wood; and a sister-in-law, Jackie (Bob) Shepard. He is further survived by several nieces and nephews and many good friends.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
