Lawrence Harry Van Slyke, age 83, of Cranesville passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at St. Vincent Health Center.
He was born June 25, 1933 in East Springfield, PA, the son of the late Harry A. and Mabel L. (Langdon) Van Slyke.
Larry graduated from West Springfield High School in 1953. He proudly served in the US Army Medical Corp. stationed in Germany from 1953 to 1955. Larry was employed at Rogers Brothers Corp., Albion, PA for 38 years as a welder and machine operator. He enjoyed all outdoor sporting activities, reading, gardening and traveling the United States with his wife.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael L. Van Slyke of Indiana ; two sisters; Louise D. Van Slyke and Gertrude L. (Van Slyke) Powers; and also two brothers, Frederick A. Van Slyke; and Arthur L. Van Slyke.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Anna C. Van Slyke; a daughter, Heather A. Van Slyke of Cranesville; two granddaughters Lacey J. Van Slyke and Amber J. Braden; a grandson, Jared T. Braden; a great granddaughter, Paisley Mae Confer; he is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
