LaVelt Ted Johnson, age 39, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital, Erie Pennsylvania, on May 31, 2020. He was born in Gary, Indiana, July 29, 1980.
After Graduating from Penn Foster in Scranton, Pennsylvania, LaVelt became Jack of all trades. LaVelt loved working with his hands. Automatic, carpentry, landscaping ...etc. When he completed a project he was proud of his accomplishment, now he had bragging rights to his siblings.
LaVelt was a friend to all he met. He was very generous, if he had it, you did, no questions asked. LaVelt was good at seeing a matter and meditated to resolve, so all parties still had dignity and did the right thing. He looked for the silver lining and was a good listener and encouraging friend to the downhearted.
His Cousin Burt was like a brother. Those who knew them said they argued like a husband and wife, it was hilarious to see. He had a great sense of humor and we will especially miss his accents.
LaVelt was a great Father, the kind that put in the work. Up all night when they were sick, doctors’ appointments, pick up, drop off, cooking, cleaning, laundry, you name it, he did it, just as a father should. They would fall asleep on his chest.
LaVelt's Sister Michelle was his confidant and best friend... So if he had secret, she knew it.
his Brother LaTeddie was the voice of reason and who he looked up to, although he wouldn't admit it. LaMont had his back no matter what he needed, he was there. Roman made him proud and Paris -J made him laugh.
Although he was not one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he valued the opportunity to observe the memorial event streaming this year. He said this was the most important day of the year.
LaVelt had special people in his life. His Sister, Helen Cousin Sherree, Burt, and William, who he affectionately called his oldest son, and His Cousin Q, who said he saved his life, cousin Anthony, Aunties, Sertia, Aldonia, Tedra and Sherry, Uncles, Robert, Rodney, Craig, Roosevelt (deceased) and Ted.
LaVelt was preceded in death by his two brothers, Brandon and Michael Allen.
He is survived by his Mother, Mother Vita Johnson-Young, Eric Young of Atlanta, Georgia, Father, Michael Allen, Grandparents, Robert and Doris Johnson, of Erie Pennsylvania.
Sister, Michelle Allen and her Children, Keyairah Allen, Kahleesi Hammond. Brothers, LaTeddie Johnson, Wife Candice Johnson, and children, Brandon, Aaron, and Calab Johnson,
