Laurice Jackson-Stovall

Laurice Jackson-Stovall, age 61 of Erie, PA, died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born September 1, 1954 in Jackson, MS, the daughter of the late Roosevelt Jackson and Bernice Cooley Brown.

Laurice graduated from East High School in 1973. She worked at UPMC Hamot in the Medical Records department for 35 years.

Laurice was a member of Superior Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, where she was heavily involved.

She loved reading her bible, traveling, watching reality TV and gardening and loved to talk and laugh with family.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her Step Father, L.J. Brown, 3 brothers, Luke Jackson, Danny Ray Brown and Joe Brown; 5 sisters, Pamela Brown, Della Brown, Ruth Ann Williams, Vanessa Brown and Elaine Brown Copeland.

Survivors include her son, Shannon Jackson (Sharanda Fowler), of Erie; a brother, Charles (Arminta) Brown; 2 sisters, Juanita Brown-Carr and Veronica Nayler; and 2 grandchildren, Taneaka Laurice Jackson and Carter D.R. Jackson. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street, Wednesday, March 9th from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm and are invited to attend a service on Thursday, March 10th at Superior Emmanuel Church, 735 Brown Avenue at 12 pm, with Elder Willie Damper presiding.
