Laura May

Laura R. Buterbaugh May, age 86 of Erie, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at her residence.

She was born on August 13, 1935, in Meadville, a daughter of the late Elias and Margaret M. (Heaney) Buterbaugh.

She was a 1953 graduate of Villa Maria Academy and worked for 33 years at Zurn Industries in sales.  She was a dedicated member of St. Joseph’s Bread of Life Community Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Garret and Meredith. Laura enjoyed going to estate sales and finding treasures.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Peggy Buterbaugh, Helen Whitney, Catherine Blose and Mary Sargent; and four brothers, Paul Buterbaugh, John Buterbaugh, Joe Buterbaugh and Jim Buterbaugh; and a son, Kevin May.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard R. May; a son, Tom May of Erie; a daughter Karin Beals, husband Dave of Harborcreek; two grandchildren, Garret and Meredith Beals, and is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Joseph’s Church, Bread of Life Community, on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 10am until the time of Mass at 11am.  Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
