Larry Martin

Larry C. Martin, age 72, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 29, 2017 at Manorcare Health Services.  He was born in Boissevain, VA on January 1, 1945, a son of John W. Martin and Elizabeth Brooks Martin.

Larry had several jobs before settling in for a long career at the City of Erie Water Treatment Center where he retired as a supervisor.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He cheered for the Detroit Lions and Tigers.   He was in touch with the Holy Spirit and loved the Lord.  He was always studying and praying.  He was a giving man and kind soul.  He loved his family and home cooking.  He is now reunited with his wife.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Jackie less than a year ago, his sisters Barbara Ann Martin and Deborah Selby and a grandson Marcell Moleck Husband.

Larry is survived by his children:  Tia Walker, Larry Nook Thomas, Tammy Walker, and Thomas Gunn; his siblings: Julia (Ron) McGruder, Norma Williams, Roger (Deloris) Martin, and Clara Whitaker; a grandson Tyshaun Gunn whom he raised.  He is further survived by 13 additional grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family will receive loved ones at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10^th St., on Saturday, July 8th at 5 p.m., until the time of service at 5:30 p.m., with Pastor Emeritus Amos Goodwine presiding.  Send condolences at www.Burtonfuneralhome.com
