Larry A. Hamilton, age 82, passed away on Thursday March 7, 2019 at Pleasant Ridge Manor, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on January 9, 1937 in Erie, PA son of the late Lemuel and Alice Riblet Hamilton.
Larry graduated from McDowell High School and from Behrend College in 1957 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and also graduated from Erie Business School with a degree in business. He was employed for many years at Erie Technological Products and served as manager of Elgin Electronics until his retirement in 2002.
Photography and playing Celtic games were among his favorite past times. Larry won many awards from the Erie Times News for his photography. He also enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Elgin Quarter Century Club.
Larry’s greatest joys were his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Donald Hamilton, a sister Marjorie Billens, a grandson Tyler Borsukoff.
Survivors include his wife Cynthia, three daughters Stephanie Holmes (Carl) and Cassandra Smith (William) both of Erie, PA ; and Marcella Frater (V. Nathan) of Dunkirk, OH. Also Surviving are nine grandchildren; Ryan Biggie (Taylor), Andrew and Kyle Borsukoff, Rebecca, Michaela and Savanna Smith, Rowan, Rayne, and Rune Frater, and Russell Holmes. He is also survived by three great grandchildren Eoghan, Gideon, and Addison Biggie.
Friends are invited to call on the family on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church 707 Sassafras Street Erie, PA 16501.
Arrangements are under the care of the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
