Kimberly Anntoinett Davis

June 21, 1968 — June 5, 2024

Erie

Kimberly Anntoinett (Woodard) Davis, age 56, entered the embrace of her Savior Jesus Christ on June 05, 2024.

Kimberly was born in Erie PA on June 21st, the eldest of four children from the union of (the late) A.C. Woodard and Katherine Marie (Gore) Woodard.  She was preceded in death by her father, A.C. Woodard; Uncle Robert “Bob” Woodard; maternal grandparents, Solomon Gore Jr. and Jerrie Lee (Carlisle) Gore; maternal aunt, Rose E. St. Fort; paternal grandparents, Richard Woodard and Minnie Lee (Twillie) Woodard; and a daughter, Savannah.

Kimberly grew up in Erie, PA.  She attended (the old) East High School.  She made her church home at Cornerstone Liberty Community Church Inc. (formerly Bethlehem Temple Church – Bishop Curtis & First Lady Martha Naylor).  She participated in Sunday School and “The Voices of Inspiration” young people’s pastoral choir under the direction of the now current Pastor Sandra M. Naylor-Vactor.  Kimberly loved singing even from a young age, and according to some of the Aunts, would do so for HOURS, as the Aunts (Donna, Deborah & Chelsa) would be forced by Granny Jerrie Lee Gore to back her up!  According to Aunt Deborah, this went on ALL SUMMER LONG during the summer school break when Kimberly would enjoy staying “out on the Hill” where (Aunt) Rita still resides on that same spot today.

Kim would be singing songs that she had heard during church services, and once was observed to close her young eyes and bellow out the lead with sincere emotions and once even with tears!

As time passed, Kim continued to grow up in church alongside close paternal cousins, Rodney, Lisa and Todd, who are still part of the CLCC congregation to this day.

Of the maternal cousins, Kim fit in as one of the first-level eldest that eventually blossomed into GoreNation  (G-Na8tion)!  GoreNation consists of about 4 levels of these cousins, who are all the children, grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren of the original pillars of GoreNation.  Kimberly was 2nd in the GoreNation hierarchy behind Tommy, the one that started it all!  Whether maternal or paternal cousins, Kimberly will be greatly missed by them all!

Though Kim was the mother of 3 living daughters, India, Ariell and Jamaica, she mothered many children in the community.  She actually looked for opportunities to serve others by working in the lives of the disenfranchised.  She was an employee of multiple Mission Centers and the Harborcreek Youth Center. Kimberly was also a member of the Erie Blue Coats, whose purpose was to intervene for sixth graders who were at high risk of dropping out of school.  Kim stood on the schoolyards with other Blue Coat members, helping to raise awareness regarding the gun violence that appears to be taking its toll on the young lives of school students.  Kimberly purposed to use her own presence to help keep Erie schools a safe place to learn.

Kimberly had many fun hobbies which included music, cooking and baking.  She also loved clothes, hairstyling, and had fun expressing her personal self in manners that stood out from any cookie-cutter modes of expression!  Her favorite colors were a bold RED & BLACK!

In summary, Kimberly was a giving and caring person as evidenced by her purposeful engagement with CORE of Erie PA.  The family’s Honor Walk was completed June 9th.  Even in death Kimberly is continuing to help heal, enhance and even save the lives of others.  What a strong and powerful move of this one woman!  And because of this one move, the Spirit of Kimberly Anntoinett Woodard-Davis will go on living even after today’s celebration has come to a close.

Kimberly leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters-India, Ariell and Jamaica; her mother -  Katherine; siblings-Wendell (Afrieeica), Briaunna and Beverly; Uncle Elder Richard & Aunt First Lady Pat Woodard; Uncle Eart & Aunt Viola; Uncle Jerry, Uncle Elder David Riley; Aunts–Enna, Rita, Christine, Karen “Donna”, Deborah and Chelsa; a special friend – Ray and a NATION of cousins,
