Kevin Smith

Kevin D. Smith, age 65, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at UPMC Hamot hospital.

He was born on June 12, 1956, in Rochester, NY, to David Jacque and Shirley M. Stevenson.

Kevin graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School, located in Rochester. Kevin loved to play the drums and the bongo for the church and played in a band called the Voltage Brothers, in Rochester NY. Kevin also loved a variety of different music. Some of his favorite artists included James Brown and Prince. Kevin loved to cook, travel and loved to dress to impress no matter the occasion, “can we say SHARP and on POINT”!

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carlise Smith, and his brothers, Gregory Smith and Darryel Madison.

Kevin will be forever missed by his daughter, Shantai R. Porter and her daughters, Anetaijia Porter, Shantaijia Porter, and Ka’Ziah Terry, all of Rochester; sons, Kevin Smith, Jr. and his children, Kailea, Kaden, Bella, and Samuel Smith, all of Syracuse, NY; his girlfriend, Zettie Harris; three brothers, Freddie Ellison (Joycelyn), Tracie Madison (Annette), Tyrone Madison (Christina); a sister, Alicia Law (Jerry), and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and close friends. He also leaves behind a special friend, Mr. Freeman.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Downtown, 602 W 10th St, Erie 16502, on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. until time of service at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
