Katie Davis Tompkins Hamilton age 86, of Fairview, passed away at her residence and went home to meet Jesus face to face, on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
She was born in Erie on October 25, 1938, a daughter of the late George and Laura Hinkle Carney.
Katie retired from Hamot Medical Center in 1999 and worked for ADI Food Service, Great Lakes Home Care and Hospice, as well as Home Instead Senior Care. She volunteered with Great Lakes Hospice and also with the Hamot Aid Society, working in the hospital gift shop. Katie was a member of the Hamot Aid Society, Irish Culture Society, the Red Hat Society and Koinonia of Erie County. She attended the Church of the Cross and Erie Church of God, and later in life volunteered at Erie City Mission which gave her great joy as well as volunteering at Sunday Supper Program for Church of the Covenant. Katie was employed at Sisters of St. Joseph and volunteered at Julia Hospice and palliative care.
She was preceded in death by her husband Allen Davis in 1971, a daughter, Janet Elaine Davis Iamuzella, and a grandson Michael Iamuzella in 1986.
Katie is survived by her two sons, Richard L. Davis of Lake City, PA and Charles E. Davis of Parker, PA; grandchildren: Kristopher Davis and his wife Melissa of Swansea, SC, Breanna Cooper and Hunter Davis; 3 great grandsons: Alexander and Benjamin Davis of SC and Austin Cooper.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 4 pm until the time of the service 7 pm.
