Kathryn Distefano

Kathryn “Sue” DiStefano, age 67, of Girard and formerly of Fairview, passed away Saturday May 31, 2014 at St. Vincent Health Center.

She was born in Greensburg, PA on January 2, 1947, a daughter of the late Charles R. and Margaret Duffey Baker.

Sue was a 1965 graduate of Brockway High School and a 1967 graduate of Erie Business Center.

She worked as the secretary of the Asbury United Methodist Church for many years. She was a member of Christ Church of West County. Sue was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a wonderful home maker.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Benito “Ben” DiStefano in 2000, and her brother, Timothy Allen Baker in 2005.

She is survived by her son Rev. Ben DiStefano and his wife Amy of Fairview; a daughter Kristiana Routh and her husband Jeremy of Girard; 6 grandchildren: Anna Maria, Meghan, Samuel and Emma DiStefano, and Kaley and (to be born August 2014) Liam Routh; a brother Charles R. Baker III and his wife Marguerite of West Chester, PA.; a sister Barbara Herrmann and her husband James of Jefferson, MD; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 until the time of service at 7:30pm. With her son Rev. Ben DiStefano officiating. Burial will be private in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
