Kathleen Malinowski

Kathleen “Kathy” Froess Malinowski age 72, of Fairview, passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer, on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Erie on October 4, 1940, a daughter of the late Urban and Isabel Wurst Froess. Kathy graduated from St. Benedict’s Academy and went on to attend cosmetology school. She was a very active member of Holy Cross Church and the Fair View Garden Club. Kathy enjoyed golf, biking, walking, attending Nautilus Fitness Club and water aerobics.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Kathy is survived by her husband Edward J. Malinowski Sr.; four daughters, Laura Fonseca and her husband Arnold, Karen Pappan and her husband Demetrious, Susan Luschini and her husband Mark and Elizabeth Freeman and her husband Scott; a son Edward J. Malinowski and his wife Kim; 17 grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Grace Lewis and her husband Larry and Alice Kowalski and her husband Joe and a a brother Ernie Froess and his wife Alice. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at Holy Cross Church, 7100 West Ridge Road Fairview PA 16415 on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 am with Rev. Scott Detisch officiating.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street, Erie PA 16506.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Regional Cancer Center 2500 W. 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16505 or to the Emmaus Soup Kitchen 218 East 11th Street, Erie, Pa 16503.
