Kathleen D. DeSantis

Kathleen D. Prylinski DeSantis, age 88, of Erie passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the PA Soldiers & Sailors Home memory care unit. She was born June 1, 1936 in Erie the daughter of the late Leo Enas and Katherine (Gross)Wood.

A lifelong resident of Erie, Kathleen was a 1954 graduate of East High School and had worked in the deli department of the former Super Duper as well as working as a waitress and bartender for local establishments. 

She enjoyed camping, playing pinochle, bowling, and bingo along with following her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’ activities.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents along with a son-in-law, Frank Butts.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, John W. DeSantis; her five children, Debbie Butts, Sandy Wollan (Dale), Beckie Juchno (Dave), Larry Prylinski (Sandy), Brad Prylinski and Rob Thomas and special godchild, Karen Catania. She is the stepmother of Ron DeSantis and Stephanie Crabill (Bill) along with 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters, Marilyn Todd and Carol Burford and a brother-in-law, Victor DeSantis along with her beloved dog, Febe

Kathleen’s family would like to thank the staff at the PA Soldiers & Sailors Home memory care unit for the wonderful comfort and care they provided to her during her stay with them.

There will be no visitation and Funeral Services will be private with burial in Calvary cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the PA Soldiers & Sailors Home, 560 East 3rd St., Erie, PA 16512 or the Humane Society, PO Box 3930, Erie, PA 16508.
