Kathleen Carey

Kathleen E. Carey, age 57, of Erie, passed away on November 7, 2013 at UPMC Hamot following a lengthy illness.

Born on February 20, 1956 in Wattsburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Helen Rush Carey.

Kate was a graduate of Wattsburg High School. She was an Admissions Administrator at LECOM. She enjoyed crocheting, making sure her nails were perfectly painted, art and music. The love of her life though was her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Clinton Carey, JR, Grace Norris, Lois Skinner and Marvin Carey.

Survivors include her son, Andy C. Sauer and his fiancée Kristi Scott; her grandchildren, Hunter, Shawn and Ian Sauer; sisters, SuzAnne (Ron) Forehand, Diane (John) Teker, Connie Carey, Valerie (Scott) Karle, and Tina (Matt) Tingley; brothers, Mike (Denise) Carey, Thomas (Lori) Carey, Steve Carey, Jeff (Kelly) Carey, John (MaryKay) Carey, Chester (Robin) Carey, Allen (Pat) Carey, Jack Carey, Gilbert Carey.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 10 at 1 pm at the Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 2320 East Lake Road with Susan Speakman officiating.

A special thanks goes to the Regional Cancer Center who took good care of Kate.
