Katherine Goshay

Katherine Mary Goshay, age 61, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Saint Vincent Hospital. She was born in Canton, Ohio on March, 13, 1958, a daughter of Jon and Raffalda Roccello Goshay.

Katherine was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 30 years, spending many of those years in service to others at Pleasant Ridge Manor. Her choice in career helped define who she was as a person; she had a calling to help others, and truly lived her life with purpose. Katherine loved to read, was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and was the perfect example of what it means to be a true friend.

She is survived by her parents, Rev. Jon and Raffalda Roccello Goshay, her siblings, Lucretia Roy, Antoinette “Toni” Horton (Darrell), Angela Stepp, Anne Goshay, Christopher Goshay (Amy) and lifelong best friend, Rebecca “Becca” Jefferson. Katherine is survived by her God children, Brandi Washington, William Goshay and Gabrielle Goshay. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Friends are invited to call on the family at Saint James AME Church 236 E. 11th Street Erie, on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m., with Elder Dale Snyder and Rev. Jon Goshay presiding. The eulogy will be given by The Reverend Doctor Alphonse Allen, Pastor of Allen Temple AME Church, Cincinnati, OH longtime family friend. Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Funeral Home, 602 W. 10th Street, Erie.
