Karen Schenk

Karen Ann Schenk, age 46, of Millcreek, died on Thursday July 17, 2014 at home. She was born in Erie on March 9, 1968, a daughter of David and Rose Loringer Schenk of Erie.

Karen graduated from Harborcreek High School and Erie County Vo Tech with a degree in commercial art. She was a freelance artist and often donated her art for charity. In addition to being very creative, she was thoughtful, generous and full of life.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alex and Helen Loringer and Carl and Dorothy Schenk.

In addition to her parents, Karen is survived by her son, Christopher Geib of Millcreek whom she was very proud of, her two sisters: Heide Schmidt of Titusville and Denise Schenk of Erie. She is further survived by many nieces and a nephew, and her special friends who were always there for her Ed and Gary.

Friends are invited to call on the family on Monday, July 21, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th St. (at Powell Ave.). Services will be private. Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
