Juvia J. "Sis" Moffat

Juvia Jeanne “Sis” Moffat, age 75, of Erie passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Saint Vincent Health Center.

She was born in Erie on March 19, 1940, a daughter of the late Orel and Eva Shorts Brown.

She graduated from McDowell High School and worked as a cashier at Loblaws and as Front End Coordinator at Quality Markets for seven years, retiring after 22 years of service. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

Juvia was an avid reader and loved to watch old movies. She had a big heart and was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home was the hub of family activities and she always welcomed her family and their friends to her home.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, James Brown and a niece, Amy Jo Brown.

She is survived by three children, Holly Moffat and her husband Ron Lesh, Scott Moffat and Mary Beth, and Melissa Wells and her husband Andrew Wells; four grandchildren, Danielle Fraschetti (David Kilpatrick), Dale Fraschetti (Kelly Whiteman), Devin Wygant (Dennis “Goob” Wygant) and Scottie Moffat (Kaitlyn McCartan)and nine great-grandchildren; Maddison, Noah, Camryn, Evelynn, Caden, Grace, Ellie, Maddex and Jaxen. She is also survived by her former husband and lifelong friend, Ed Moffat; a sister-in-law, Kay Brown; nieces, Kim, Vanessa and Robin; nephews, Jim “Fuzzo” and Eugene and a number of great-nieces and nephews. She will be missed by the many friends who came to Friday night spaghetti dinners at her home and also enjoyed her fudge.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue) on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery, Cambridge Springs PA.
