June Yentes

June Eileen Yentes, age 85, of Erie, died on Sunday March 15, 2015. She was born in Erie on July 10, 1929 daughter of the late Henry and Ada P. Baumgardner Yentes.

She was a graduate of Academy High School, class of 1948. She worked as a bookkeeper for Reliable Radio, Perry Beauty and Barber Supply Company, and she retired from Richard’s Shoes after twenty five years of service.

June was an active member of Luther Memorial Church. As a young woman, she and her mother were advisors to the Luther League. June was also a member of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (W/ELCA) and served as the Treasurer and Sunshine Chair of the Tuesday Evening Circle at Luther Memorial Church. She also enjoyed membership in the Thursday Noon Circle. June will be remembered by the students at Luther Memorial Academy and by her church friends for her generosity to the Academy and Church libraries.

She is survived by a cousin.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Laurel Hill Cemetery, on Thursday March 19th at 1:30pm with Reverend William E. Coleman officiating.
