Julius T. Edwards, age 88, of Erie, PA passed away on Monday December 18, 2017 at St. Mary’s East. He was born in Erie on December 3, 1929, son of the late Scott Sharp and Flossie Crider Sharp.
He was a graduate of Erie Technical Memorial and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was employed by American Sterilizer for over 11 years, retiring in 1995, and later worked at Duchini, Inc. More recently, he worked as a crossing guard at St. James School. He was a member of St. Stan’s Church and enjoyed sports, his favorite team was the New York Giants.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Edwards (1986); a son, William P. Adams; and three sisters, Bonnie Strickland, Margie Marshall, Joyce Battles, and Maeola Sharp Caroll.
He is survived by four daughters: Donna Rose Adams, Deanna C. Baker, Darlene M. Blanks, and Marva Edwards, all of Erie; one sister Sonya Johnson of Erie; a brother, Frederick Sharp, of Erie. He is further survived by many grandchildren and many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home 602 W. 10th Street at Cherry Street, Wednesday, December 20th from 2pm to 5pm and from 7pm to 9pm. Prayers will be held at Burton Funeral Home at 10:15am, Thursday, December 21st, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Stanislaus Church located at 516 E. 13th St. Erie, PA 16503.
