Juanita Reichel

January 31, 1926 — September 20, 2015

Juanita F. Miles Reichel, 89, formerly of Cindy Lane, died on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge.  She was born on January 31, 1926, in Columbus, OH, daughter of the late Stanley and Blanche Stewart Miles.  A 1944 graduate of Academy High School, she earned an Associates Degree in Business from Gannon University and worked as a Loan Officer for PNC Bank for 30 years retiring in 1993.  Following retirement she worked for H & R Block doing tax returns until April 2013.  Mrs. Reichel was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and Flying Aces Club, was inducted into the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame for her contribution to Erie Youth Baseball, and had served on the Board of Directors of Little League Baseball, Zonta Club, and Crime Victim Center.
     She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Linley J. "Lin" Reichel in 2008; a sister, Margaret Kalizewski; two brothers, James and Robert Miles; and a son-in-law, Gary Freiwald.
     Survivors include two sons, Curtis J. Reichel and wife Rebecca of Tampa, FL and Barry A. Reichel and wife Mary of Erie; a daughter, Sharon Freiwald of Maryland; a brother, Robert "Butch" Miles and his wife Barbara of Erie; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
     Friends may call the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  A service will be held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1603 W. 32nd Street, Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Kristen Papson officiating.  Burial will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
