Joyce Battle

Joyce Marie Battle, age 75, of Abington Crest Nursing Home went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.

She was born in Erie, PA on August 2, 1941, the daughter of the late Flossie Crider Sharp and Frederick Scott Sharp.

She attended Academy High School and worked at Bliley Electric in Erie.

Joyce will be remembered for her love of the Lord, music, dancing, fishing, crossword puzzles, TV westerns, and spending time with her many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love of life, and her love of people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marvo Sharp, Jerry Sharp, Maeola Sharp Carroll, Bonnie Jean Strickland, and Marjorie Marshall.

Joyce is survived by her son Julius LaGree Battle of Orlando, FL, her sister Sonja Johnson of Erie, PA, and brothers Fredrick Sharp of Erie, and Julius Edwards of Erie. She is further survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on the family on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street. Burial will follow in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
