Josephine (Militello) Yacovella age 90 of Erie, died Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Village at Luther Square.
She was born in Erie, PA on February 10, 1926, daughter of the late Sam Militello and Emma (Squires) Militello.
She worked as a cook at Howard Johnson’s, as a laborer at Elgin Electronics and as a shop worker.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John Yacovella; a daughter, Marie Farley, two sons, William Vangeli and Leo Davis; two sisters, Margaret Woodworth and Rose Weber; and two brothers, Myron Militello and James Militello.
She is survived by three daughters, Penny Nearoff of Conneaut, OH, Georgetta Daruda of Erie, Dorthea McDade of Centerville, PA; three sons, George Davis of Sherrodsville, OH, Joseph Davis and Thomas Davis, both of Cleveland, OH, and a special niece, Ann Durlin. She is further survived by 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Friends are invited to call on the family at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street on Monday May 23rd, from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Life NWPA Senior Citizen’s Center at 149 West 22nd Street, Erie, PA 16502.
