Joseph Paul Sabol, age 56, hauled to his next destination on Monday January 30, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born in Erie, PA, the son of Jean Fiesler Sabol and the late Frank Sabol.
Joe graduated from Girard High School. Work was always part of his life, starting with the family farm. He loved his job as a truck driver with Frank Sabol & Sons. He traveled from Kansas City to Maine and made friends all along the way. He was a happy workaholic.
He was a member of Sons of American Legion in Girard for over 28 years and was active in Lake Erie Lodge 347, Shriners, and Zem Zem motor corp.
With his work ethic, he was always busy: driving his mustang, gardening, going to auctions, camping and cutting firewood. Rooting for the Pittsburgh sport teams and Sunday Polkas rounded out his weekends. Over the years, Joe and his wife made hundreds of fruit baskets at Christmas time. He was charming and funny, stopping to talk to people everywhere. But most of all he was a loving and caring husband and father; completely devoted to his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Frank J. Sabol, his brother Sam Sabol, his father and mother-in-law Frank and Shelby Bendure, and a sister-in-law Becky Sabol.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Nancy Bendure Sabol; three daughters, Nanci Newcomb, Shelby Sabol and Peyton Sabol; two grandchildren, Chloe Little and Lily Bruno; a brother, Frank Sabol; a sister, Diann Sabol; and three brothers-in-law, Don, Tom (Carol) and Fred Bendure. He is further survived by his nieces and nephews, Rachael (Jason) Speer, Frank Sabol, Christina Bendure, AJ Bendure, Sarah Bendure, Stacey Bendure, Duncan (Alexys) Bendure, Gena Bendure, Jadyn Bendure, Jasmine Bendure and Sophia Bendure as well as great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends are invited to call on the family on Friday Feb. 3rd from 2-4pm & 6-8pm with a Masonic service at 6:00 and a Legion service at 6:10 and on Saturday Feb. 4th from 11am until the time of service at 12 Noon at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard. Burial at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 1645 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16505 or a local fire department. Send condolences at www.BurtonQuinnScott.com.
