Joseph Michael Koech, age 30, passed away Friday September 25, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
He was born in Erie, on August 26, 1985, a son of Joseph H. Koech and Theresa S. Momeyer Koech.
Joseph graduated from Girard High School in 2004. He attended Edinboro University. He worked at Russell Upholstery and most recently at Lorie’s Wildridge Restaurant. His passion was hunting, fishing, camping and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed drawing and had picked up his grandmother’s love for cooking.
He will be forever remembered as being a brave, loving, sweet, kind hearted son, brother and friend. Joseph had a great sense of humor. He loved his friends as family. The family would like to thank everyone for the help, love and support over the last few weeks.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Heather S. Koech, whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers: Jacob S. and Jordan P. Koech of Girard; grandfather, Gary S.Koech I, and a grandmother, Patricia Momeyer; aunts and uncles: Gary S. Koech II and his wife Alejandra, Christopher E. Koech and Kris Momeyer; step sisters, Sarah and Ashley English and his step brother, Aaron English. He is further survived by many cousins, great aunts and uncles.
Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East in Girard on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, and are invited to attend a funeral service there on Thursday at 10 am. Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice, 2253 W Grandview Blvd, Erie, PA 16506
